Mermaids
Mermaids is a support group for gender-variant children and teenagers, and their families. Their goal is to relieve the mental and emotional stress of all persons aged 19 years and under who are in any manner affected by gender identity issues, and their families and to advance public education in the same. The Beaumont Society
As well as being a support network, the society keenly promotes a better understanding of transgender, transvestism and gender dysphoria in society, thereby creating and improving tolerance and acceptance of these conditions by a wider public. Sparkle
Sparkle, the national transgender celebration is the world's largest transgender event. For the last 10 years, they've been celebrating with the trans community in July in Manchester. Website: www.sparkle.org.uk
TDor and Reporting
TDoR (Transgender Day or Remembrance) is the 20th of November every year – it is the day we reflect on the known trans people who have been murdered for being trans. This website also provides a portal for reporting trans hate crimes. Website: www.www.tdor.co.uk
